Media Gallery vs Gallery v2

For some time now, I've been debating whether or not I should import the images on the Gallery v2 into the Media Gallery. I even posted up a poll about which one you guys would like better, gallery v2 or media gallery. But looking at how its at 0 votes, I'm guessing you guys don't really care. So what's going to happen to the galleries?

After looking over the configurations on the Media Gallery and Gallery v2, plus taking in consideration what each gallery can do and cannot do, and other detailed factors that I'm too lazy to write, I have decided that I will be importing 'all' of the images from Gallery v2 to the Media Gallery.
What will this mean?
This means that Gallery v2 "might" not be used anymore, and Media Gallery will be primarily used for "all" media uses included but not limited to: images, videos, and music. Now I said "might" because upon debating whether to import the images or not, there was one main deciding factor about Gallery v2, which is the new upcoming Gallery v3. I had the chance to test Gallery v3 first hand and I must say it looks soooo much better than Gallery v2.
But if it was that much better, why not wait until its release and use it?
Firstly, It wont be released for a while (about 6 or more weeks possibly months later) since its development started about 2 months ago. Secondly, the problem with registration with the gallery. While you can view all of the images on Gallery v2 without needing to register, in order to upload, download, use url links on images, you are required to register to the gallery. And I say this is a problem because the registration on the gallery is separate from the registration on the Aniverse site. So when visitors register on the gallery, they will not be able to use their credentials to login into the Aniverse site, and vice versa. So now it will no longer be a separate registration process.
Currently most of the images have already been imported and can keep track of it on this forum post.
Now I turn to you readers, what think you of the media gallery? Would it be better to have a gallery be part of the website or separate from the website?
