Ecchi's Recommended Fall Anime

Been watching a couple of animes which were released this fall 2009 and wanted to share my recommended anime views and a few personal thoughts on said anime.

First one that I want to point out which is on my top list to watch is Sora no Otoshimono.

Story Summary:

Tomoki Sakurai often encounters a strange girl in his dreams asking for his help, but he can't remember her face when he wakes up. When an Unidentified Mysterious Animal (U.M.A.) falls out of the sky, his life of pacifism suddenly becomes complicated. The animal turns out to be an angel, Ikaros.

This anime I fully recommend to watch! Lots of comedy, ecchiness, flying pantsu, mystery, and a pervy main character (in a good way ^^).

The next anime I would recommend is Nyan Koi.

Story Summary:

Junpei Kōsaka is a second-year high school student who despises cats and has an allergy to them. It just so happens that his high school crush is Kaede Mizuno, a girl who adores cats. One day, while walking home from school, Junpei kicks an empty can and unfortunately beans the local neko-jizō-sama (guardian deity of cats). He finds he can now understand what cats are saying, including his family's own ill-tempered cat, Nyamusasu. However, if he does not grant 100 wishes from cats, he will turn into cat himself.

I also recommend this series for its comedy, romance, and harem (somewhat ^^;). You'll really get a good laugh at this series and its very fun to watch.

Another anime I would recommend is Kampfer.

Story Summary:

Senou Natsuru is your normal, everyday high school student. However he´s been chosen to be a Kampfer, who´s objective consists on fighting other Kampfer with either guns, swords or magic, however, there´s catch; first you can´t chose if you´re a Kampfer or not, and second, you must have the body of a girl to use your powers.

This is a great anime to watch and I'd recommend it but there is one small flaw in this great anime... the main character is an oblivious idiot which can't even see a girl's love for him if it hit him in the face. Everything else is FINE, the story is great, the characters are dynamic, the music is great, just NOT the main character. If you can get by with his idiocy then its worth watching.

Last but not least I also recommend watching Seitokai no Ichizon.

Story Summary:

The series, which is also called Hekiyō Gakuen Seito-kaigi Jiroku (The Records of the Hekiyō Academy Student Council’s Activities), revolves around a private high school whose student council is chosen entirely by popularity vote. Because of this, Ken Sugisaki is the only male representative, in the otherwise all bishōjo student council, that may enter the “sacred sanctuary” of the council’s meeting room. At the behest of Council President Kurimu Sakurano, Sugisaki records the minutes of the council meetings, which devolve into daily conversations about the students’ lives and interests.

This is a good parody anime with lots of comedy, harem, moe, and otakuness that will have you enjoying the series if you can understand its parodies. I would recommend this series to veteran anime otakus which have seen many animes as well as grasp the knowledge of the otakus that live in japan and what they do. Those just getting into anime wouldn't understand much of the parodies but if you still want to give it a try and understand the in-jokes and parodies then give this one a go.

KissxSis TV Anime

For those who have seen KissxSis here at Aniverse and are desperately waiting for another episode to come here, then I have great news to you all!

First great news is that the next OAD episode of KissxSis will be coming soon (next week to be precise) and once I obtain that episode, it will be uploaded here at Aniverse for you all to see.

Second great news is that KissxSis will be adapted to a TV Series. Rejoice as TV broadcasts will censor the living hell out of an ecchi show like this one. But don't fret, DVD releases of KissxSis will make you glad you waited. KissxSis TV series is set of Spring 2010.

Lucky Star Parody

Found this flash file in one of my old image folders that I rarely go to and thought it be best to share this with you all if you have not seen this yet. It's a Lucky Star parody using the OP song with Touhou characters. Its cute and fun to watch.

Negima ~Another World~

Recently I was able to acquire the most recent OVA of the Negima series and after watching it I felt the need to write a post about it, which mind you, I rarely do so for anime. Reason I say this is because I'm not the type of anime otaku which do reviews on anime like some other otakus which their blog is dedicated to reviewing anime. Now keep in mind as I said that, that this post is NOT a review and if it seems like a review because of the way I word things then disgard those thoughts. ^^ I simply want to express my thoughts into the OVA series of Negima. Alright if you are ready, then lets proceed!

First before saying anything else:

If you haven't watched the first Negima series then I suggest watching it first so you can have a better understanding of the events happening on the OVA and why they say what they say.

Also, there are two different OVAs which follow the first Negima series which go by the following names:

- 魔法先生ネギま！～白き翼 ALA ALBA～ / Mahou Sensei Negima! ~Shiroki Tsubasa Ala Alba~ / Magical Teacher Negima! ~The White Wing~

- 魔法先生ネギま！～もうひとつの世界～ / Mahou Sensei Negima! ~Mou Hitotsu no Sekai~ / Magic Teacher Negima! ~Another World~

The OVA which I want to focus today is "Mahou Sensei Negima! ~Mou Hitotsu no Sekai~" which is the latest OVA release for the series. As I write this, I'm attempting to encode the video so it's viewable here in Aniverse so for all of you who have not watched it, can watch it and comment your thoughts on the OVA. I will also try encoding and upload the first OVA series for those of you who have not watched it yet. I will not upload the first season of the Negima series since it has already been licensed by FUNimation.
NOTE: If FUNimation get the licensing rights to these OVAs then I will take them off from Aniverse so I suggest watching it before that happens.

Now for my thoughts on the OVA:

One word: FLAWLESS. Or at least that's what I like to say since I would be blamed for fanboyism and exagerration. While that one single word is a bit exagerrated for this series, it was nonetheless a great first episode OVA which left me unable to eat my food and my jaw on the floor. If you thought that the fight scenes in the first season of Negima were awesome (considering that you thought that way) the fight scenes in this OVA takes it litterally and not joking, to the MAX. It was to the point where I was getting off my chair and shouting which I rarely do in action scenes, but it was just THAT good. My thoughts on the fight scenes in the OVA, I felt that if they did the same for the series throughout, it would have been almost perfect.

If you think otherwise, please comment and tell your view on this episode. If you still haven't watched it, visit the Anime Theater and find it there and watch it. Then come back here and comment your thoughts on it.

Summer Anime 2009 v3

The final version of the summer anime preview is now readily available for your viewing. Some have been pushed to later during fall and as far as 2010.

I'll definitely be on the look-out for the Negima! OVA since I'm a fan of the Negima series. Fight Ippatsu! will be another series I might just pick up as well, the character artwork resembles that of Mahoromatic. Princess Lover! is another series I will be picking up to see during the summer.

Summer 2009 Anime v2

June is now here and this means that a new wave of anime is to come with summer. I previously posted the first outlook on what will come summer and now a better view on what will come has finally arrived.

I have my sights on Negima! Mouhitotsu no Sekai OVA, Fight Ippatsu! Jyuden-chan!!, Princess Lover!, and Seitokai no Ichizon.

Are any of these on your list to watch during summer?

Queen's Blade: The Afterthought

I recall writing an article about giving Queen's Blade a chance to redeem itself of not being senseless ecchi anime. Both me and my wife have watched so far 7 episodes and there are a few things to be said about Queen's Blade and also what others say about this show also. So is it really an anime not worth watching?

After watching 7 episodes, I can say it was worth giving this anime the chance.

I have come across people who have discontinued watching this series all because the first 5 minutes of the show has a girl spewing out acid from her breasts. I mean, really, we are talking about Japan here, I've seen much more weirder things from other anime shows than acid-spewing-from-breasts girls. If you judge the show just because of something like that, then you fail. Now if extreme ecchi, to the point of nipples showing and camera angles on the nether regions of females, is not your thing then I can understand why you wouldn't want to watch it.

Now, the reason its worth watching is because it actually has a story behind its extreme ecchiness. Recap of the story:

In 4 years time the competition that will decide who the next Queen shall be will start. The strongest warrior will continue to rule the country according to tradition and expand it. The contestants need only be older than 12 years. They need not be human, intelligent or even of that country. The rules for the tournament are simple: murder is allowed. Any weapon can be chosen. The winner is decided when one of the participants flees or can't move anymore. Such event is broadcasted through a crystal sphere by the court's magic teacher to all population to see and enjoy.

And yes it does still follow to its story along with the ecchi, which is like having friends with benefits but without the sex. =) That might be the wrong analogy, i don't know, but i don't care either lol.

New Episode of Haruhi Suzumiya Finally Airs

After 3 years of being pulled by a string by Kodokawa, a new episode of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya finally airs on SUN TV in Japan. It is titled and based off the "Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody" arc.

As it aired, the blogosphere, 2ch, forum websites, twitter, and any other sites that talk about the show were soon consumed with tons of posts about this new episode. Many screenshots were taken, and RAWS distributed throughout the nets but no FanSubs yet. Many english natives are waiting for the subs while others watch the RAWS regardless if they know Japanese or not. I can say this much though, there is still a large haruhism fanbase even after 3 years of Kodokawa trolling.

For those that cannot wait for the subs to come out, the RAW is already out on Youtube which you can watch below. For the others that want to wait for the subs to come out, well you'll just have to wait for a FanSub group to get started on it.
